PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT PER DIEM

BRONX, NY, US


The practice of a physician assistant shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant that are delegated by the supervising physician.

Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assisting at surgery; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.  Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and/or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates.  An emergency, for  these purposed, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm the patient or an immediate threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA approved PA program and hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • New York State License for Physician Assistant and current registration
  • NCCPA certification
