PHYSICIAN LIAISON

This Physician Liaison will be accountable for developing relationships with Pulmonologists and other Medical Practices with the goal bringing patients in for evaluation for Lung transplantation.  This position will be active in the field developing relationships, keeping up evaluation volumes, as well as providing communication with all referring entities.  The additional services this individual will provide are outreach related events like organized walks, CME sessions and Practice dinners. 

The specific job duties for the position include establishing short- and long-term outreach strategies for growth of adult lung transplantation, developing new referral sources, assessing opportunities to increase business and gaining more volume from existing physicians.  Other duties consist of enhancing communication between community physicians and transplant specialists, acting as a key resource of information, monitoring needs, responding to concerns of community physicians, and facilitating patient intake into the transplant pathway.  In addition, creating and maintaining referral sources from outside of the local community is a key part of the job.  Another responsibility of the liaison is to increase the profile and exposure of the transplant team in the tri-state area through grand round lectures, dinner events, CME events, etc.  The individual will maintain a log of their activities and report their activities on a regular basis to program leadership. 

This individual will be responsible for helping to map out a regional strategy plan for approaching practices and Physical Rehab centers geographically

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or Public Health, or a clinical degree

Master’s Degree, Preferred

Ability to travel throughout the tristate area (NY, NJ and CT)

Minimum of 5 years of work experience, including 1 year of physician liaison or healthcare marketing experience

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
