Physician Assistant- General Medicine (Einstein location) 


Job Summary: 

The physician assistant will be an integral member of Montefiore's Buprenorphine Treatment Network (BTN). The PA will work closely with BTN physicians, treatment coordinators, and community health workers to provide buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder in the outpatient setting, including primary care clinics. Buprenorphine treatment includes: conducting clinical assessments, managing the initiation, stabilization, and maintenance of buprenorphine treatment, and facilitating referrals to additional support, ancillary services, or higher levels of care when needed. The PA will collaborate with local drug treatment services and mental health providers to optimize buprenorphine treatment for opioid use disorder. The BTN is looking for a committed, warm and passionate individual who can make a difference in the way that Montefiore patients are cared for.


Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

3 years work experience 

Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State.
NCCPA certified.

Buprenorphine waiver is a plus, or willingness to complete it upon hire.
Experience working with patients who use drugs and/or experience working with marginalized populations, including homeless or formerly incarcerated individuals, or people living with HIV/AIDS. 
Experience delivering health education in a manner which is easily understood by individuals with very low health-literacy.
Excellent interpersonal skills required for interaction with patients and medical team members.
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
