PHYSICIST II

The Physicist II will provide physics services at main center and outreach clinics for

a) Scheduling, planning, delivery, verification, documentation, protocol administration, and charge capture of imaging, simulations, radiation treatments, follow-up, and outcome analysis.

b) Implementation and of new technologies, treatment techniques, modalities, processes

c) Planning, delivery, verification, documentation of special procedures such as SRS, SBRT, and HDR.  Assist in the training of radiation and other oncologists, surgeons, fellows, residents, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, visitors, and others.  Participate in research programs of the division of therapeutic medical physics, radiation oncology and other departments, cancer center.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • M.S. in Medical Physics, physics, or strongly related field, required
  • PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, or strongly related field, preferred
  • Medical Physics Residency or equivalent training in medical physics
  • Two years of clinical experience in clinical medical physics.
  • Eligibility for Board certification in therapeutic medical physics, imaging and/or nuclear medicine physics (ABR)
  • Outstanding communication, technical, computer, teaching, research & management skills
  • Eligibility for Licensed Medical Physicist in NYS
  • Eligibility for appointment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (i.e. peer reviewed publication record)
