Senior Physicist - Therapeutic Medical Physics Radiation Oncology

 

Job Summary: 

Provide physics services at main center and outreach clinics for a) scheduling, planning, delivery, verification, documentation, protocol administration, and charge capture of imaging, simulations, radiation treatments, follow-up, and outcome analysis, and b) implementation and of new technologies, treatment techniques, modalities, processes c) planning, delivery, verification, documentation of special procedures such as SRS, SBRT, and HDR.  Assist in the training of radiation and other oncologists, surgeons, fellows, residents, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, nurses, visitors, and others.  Participate in research programs of the division of therapeutic medical physics, radiation oncology and other departments, cancer center.

 

Job Requirements:

  • PHD Preferred
  • Master's Degree Required 
  • New York State License in Medical Physics - Therapeutic Radiological
  • Broad Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medical Physics
  • Minimum 7 years work experience
  • Medical Physics Residency or equivalent training in medical physics
  • Must be able to operate all dosimetry and radiation therapy equipment need to ensure safe and accurate delivery of radiation therapy
