Program Administrator – Bilingual CHD Program Coordinator- (On-Site)

Position Summary: Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP) has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Administrator for the Community Health Division (CHD). In this role, the successful candidate will report directly to the CHD leadership team and is responsible for coordinating CHD tasks related to outreach, enrollment, programming, and staff supervision. This is a grant funded position. The candidate will:

  • Support implementation of the CHD outreach, enrollment, and programming strategy for MSHP school sites that includes development, coordination, and monitoring of key deliverables in accordance with departmental and organizational goals and timetables
  • Have a consistent presence at multiple MSHP sites throughout Bronx, NY, and Westchester, NY, and liaise with school staff and stakeholders to maximize SBHC utilization potential
  • Facilitate classroom-based and/or virtual programming to students, parents, and stakeholders at MSHP sites • Coordinate CHD enrollment campaigns to ensure school sites meet the minimum requirement of 75% enrollment at high schools and 85% at elementary/middle schools • Inform CHD leadership of any situations that may impact the MSHP’s relationship with patients, families, or school staff and supports building and maintaining external stakeholder relationships
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day CHD operational problems at MSHP sites (e.g., CHD staffing and needs)
  • Oversee data collection and management for CHD needs assessments and grant-funded studies responsible for Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP) enrollment efforts and classroom-based sexual and reproductive health screening efforts at MSHP sites
  • Supervise CHD staff, interns, and volunteers
  • Develop and maintain CHD task forces, wellness councils, and grant funded studies.

 Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, Psychology, Public Health, Human Service, or related field, required. Master’s degree in public health or other social science is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (written and spoken) • Must be able to travel to various MSHP sites throughout Bronx, NY, and Yonkers, NY. and ability to lift and transport 10-15lbs of resources for CHD related events Must be able to work evening hours and weekends for CHD related events and programming
  • Two years’ experience in program coordination, assessing needs of patients, and/or communities; developing and implementing systems for process improvement; and program development.
  • Able to create presentations, workshops, and outreach materials tailored to school community needs. • One or more years of programming experience in any of the following areas: asthma, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, or positive youth development
  • Able to demonstrate leadership on projects by working independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong facilitation skills and experiences in presenting materials to small and large groups
  •  Experience and/or high comfort level in talking to adolescents and parents about various wellness and prevention health issues that includes sexual and reproductive health topics
  •  Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
