We are currently seeking a Psychologist to join our esteemed institution at our Montefiore UBA-WeCARE Program. WeCARE provides a continuum of services to help HRA referred cash assistance clients with medical and/or mental health conditions that affect their employability to attain their maximum levels of self-sufficiency. Individuals referred to WeCARE receive medical and psychosocial assessments to identify possible clinical conditions and social barriers that may affect their ability to participate in work-related activities. Based on the results of the assessments, a determination of an individual's functional capacity (FCO) is made and a customized service plan by our team is developed to provide a range of services tailored to meet a client's particular needs. An individual will be referred for a psychiatric assessment performed by an psychologist only in certain circumstances, such as when a client disagrees with a functional capacity outcome (FCO) determination or when an FCO cannot be determined from the assessment or if possible mental health barriers to employment are present. The psychologist will function independently with physician oversight.

Job Duties:

- Review prior WeCARE documentation and that provided by the client, the Clinical Assessment, Medical Evaluation, and Substance Use Assessment (when indicated)

- Obtain a psychiatric and substance use history

- Conduct a mental status examination

- Update the psychiatric limitations

- Elaborate on the reported findings, identify issues not previously reported and explain any inconsistencies between the interpretation of clinical information

- Provide reasonable accommodations and/or work restrictions, as necessary

- Assess potential eligibility for federal disability benefits using the SSA sequential evaluation process

- Make a determination of the functional capacity outcome and provide a written rationale for the decision

- Participate in team meetings to evaluate and improve the WeCARE process

- Handles psychiatric emergencies/urgencies among WeCARE clients in the office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 per year
