Job Summary:


The Montefiore Registered Staff Nurse maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by  the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and  Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.

The Registered Nurse actualizes the vision, mission, values and balanced scorecard performance  measures for Montefiore Medical Center.


The Sickle Cell Research RN participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The RN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served. The Sickle Cell Research Nurse is responsible for recruiting, screening and enrolling subjects for the Sickle cell clinical trials at the MMP site and GGB sites. The position is responsible to maintain appropriate patient referrals and will participate in the coordination of all aspects of the patients care throughout the process including testing/procedures, education, pre-intra and post protocol follow up. Will work with the clinical research team (principal investigators, regulatory staff, research coordinators and data managers) to provide the service of developing and conducting clinical trials and providing patient care. Position will be responsible for the supervision of clinical research support. Position will involve wound care and application of research cream to wounds in patients with sickle cell disease. 


Job Requirement:


New York State Registered Professional Nurse License and current registration required.
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or related field required.
Master's Degree preferred.
Current Infection Control Training and BLS required.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required.
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) required.
Clinical Trials data management in academic or pharmaceutical setting preferred.
2 - 4 years research experience in academic clinical setting preferred.
Experience with CTMS, Epic, Velos and SPSS professional preferred.

Travel between Moses and Montefiore Medical Park required.
