Research Specialist- Pediatric GI & Nutrition Dept 


Job Summary:

As a Research Specialist you will provide coordination and support with multiple clinical research projects in the Pediatric GI and Nutrition Division.  You will interview and recruit target subjects from clinics in the hospital.  Explain study and obtain written consent from interested and eligible particiapants.  Coordinate follow up, tests and procedures between participants, physicians and other staff at the hospital.  Conduct research participant data collection and data entry, including demographic, anthropological and other relevant data into study database in accordance with IRB and research protocols.  Coordinate grant application process from initial application to final award determination.  Work closely with research team to develop research work flow policies and procedures.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Biology, Social Sciences or related field required.
  • One year clerical experience in clinical or research environment as well as experience working in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer and data entry required, including Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel. 
  • Knowledge of Statistical software programs preferred. Excellent typing skills necessary.
  • Excellent communication and coordinating skills necessary.  Ability to work independently.  Experience with Pediatric patients preferred.
