SAFETY MANAGER

Job overview:

The Safety Manager will work with the Senior Director in the creation of policies, plans and procedures relating to safety and regulatory requirements; update and review policies as required or applicable Responsible for compliance with Joint Commission and OSHA rules, laws and regulations.

Will be responsible for ensuring that staff are properly trained, policies meet regulatory requirements, and complaints are investigated.

The incumbent manages the daily activities for a designated administrative function.

Prepares and monitors the budget, implements policies and procedures,and monitors program outcomes. Supervises, trains and evaluatesprofessional and support staff.

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree is required. Masters degree preferred.  
  • Prior experience with investigations and training is required.  
  • Experience in the healthcare field or compliance, and expert knowledge in OSHA and Joint Commission standards.

 

Competencies and Skills:

  • OSHA outreach instructor for general industry
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive and independent investigations 
  • knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote a safe environement
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards
  • Systems Analysis and Evaluation
  • Communication Proficiency
