SECRETARY II

BRONX, NY, US


Secretary II performs clerical and routine administrative activities for General and Bariatric Surgery. He/she prioritizes assignments and organizes functions to ensure effective office operations. Secretary II may lead and direct clerical staff.

 

Responsibilities – including but not limited to

 

Provide secretarial assistance to the surgeons, attendings and clinic team including correspondence and scheduling and maintaining files.

Administrative tasks, telephone, and mail coverage.

Maintain, organize, and keep inventory of clinic office supplies and materials.

Prepare and maintain patient lists and data summary reports of clinical activities.

Insure that required forms are kept up-to-date, ready for clinic or scanned into charts.

Sending out letters, faxing, etc.

Schedule OR cases, verify insurance and get authorization for procedures

Schedule diagnostic procedures and obtain authorization.

Register, schedule and check in patients as needed.

 

Please note: This is a Full Time position.This position is stationed 3400 Bainbridge Ave, Bronx, NY. The position may travel to multiple Bronx based locations as needed.

 

Education/Skills required:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred

Three years secretarial experience required

Previous experience with General / Bariatric Surgery and/or Surgical Practice, scheduling and insurance authorization process preferred

Ability to type 45 WPM required

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred

Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
