SENIOR CLERK

The Senior Clerk is the first point of contact for the department. Associate will handle all incoming calls and act as a liaison between patients, secretaries, physicians and facility. Associate is responsible for complete patient registration including but not limited to proper insurance verification and applying coordination of benefit rules. Senior Clerk will work to maximize income for every patient seen by managing verification and confirmation/rescheduling process. Associate will manage physician schedules while appointment scheduling for all providers. Associate will follow protocols and maximize physician schedule based on departmental guidelines to ensure patient/provider satisfaction, including patients that need to be seen urgently.
The schedule for this position is 9am-5:30pm
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Bilingual Spanish required
EPIC experience preferred.
Knowledge of third party billing procedures and coordination of benefits.
Minimum one year experience in insurance/ managed care/ call center environment.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred
Ability to analyze and interpret eligibility and referral data.
Ability to interact with internal/external customers of all levels, including management level, patient origin, ethnic background and education levels.
Experience with contact as a customer service liaison in health care/ managed care setting preferred.
Able to work Microsoft Office.
