SENIOR DIRECTOR OPERATIONS

BRONX, NY, US


The Senior Director for Hospital Operations provides oversight, leadership, and management required to ensure that the operations of the hospital remain in alignment with Montefiore strategy.  Under the direction of the AVP of Hospital Operations, the Senior Director develops, implements and monitors plans to translate strategy into actionable goals for successful performance.  He/She will work to create opportunities to decrease wait times, optimize inventory levels in key areas, manage physical resources, and dig (create reports and analysis) into KPIs on all fronts including logistics and customer experience. The Senior Director will assist with the logistics / operations throughout the hospital system.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations for multiple departments, including but not limited to operations, patient logistics, patient experience, and the transfer center
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement in patient access, patient experience, supply chain management, turnaround time, and associate satisfaction
  • Optimize, expand, and integrate the technology required to support the Montefiore transfer center
  • Accountable for financial outcomes of service areas. Oversee the development and submission of capital and operating budgets, manage expenses, monitor budget variances and implements corrective actions
  • Examine competitive environment, formulate strategic plans and articulates vision for accountable areas
  • Prepare financial and workflow analysis for programs and operations to evaluate effectiveness and assist with developing strategic plans impacting cost, quality, and service
  • Participate in business development planning and analysis related to facility needs, and regulatory requirements to focus on necessary infrastructure
  • Work with Facilities, Engineering, Design and Construction, and other departments for construction / renovation projects
  • Manage KPI’s including logistics, patient, and family experience
  • Create climate of trust increasing the potential for employees to be productive and feel welcome, valued, and motivated
  • Build strategic relationships with key departments and all inpatient units. Function as liaison, resource, and thought leader to other divisions and departments

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a supply chain; logistics/customer support/operations/consulting role   
  • Success working at an entrepreneurial environment, ideally within a start-up or high growth company
  • Prior experience working at  manufacturing, Shipping & Receiving, hospital logistics, or a customer service based company are preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred
  • Lean and Six Sigma certification preferred. 
  • 7 + years of working  experience required
  • Experience with P&L; forecasting and budgeting required
  • Drove efficiencies, such as increasing speed and /or decreasing costs
  • Provided a best in class customer experience
  • Performed detailed data analysis and managed via KPIs
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills
