The Montefiore RN maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement. The Registered Nurse actualizes the vision, mission, values, balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center. The RN participates in performance improvement/research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The RN demonstrates core and unit specific competencies based on the patient population served.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•    Demonstrates leadership skills in the coordination and delivery of patient care
•    Systematically assesses the health care of patients/families and responses to care rendered
•    Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem solve and initiate clinical decision making
•    Evaluates patient progress toward health goals and modifies critical path or plan of care accordingly
•    Develops, coordinates, and provides direct care for specific patient assignment
•    Demonstrates responsibility for maintaining competencies and participates in activities contributing to the growth and development of self, colleagues, and the nursing profession
•    Responsible and accountable for own practice


QUALIFICATIONS:

•    New York State License for Registered Professional Nurse and current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State as an R.N.
•    High School Diploma / GED requited. BSN Degree preferred
•    Basic Life Support Training required
•    Infection Control Training
•    Certification in specialty preferred
•    Effective English communication skills, both written and oral Ability to use basic data entry and retrieval systems

 

This position is located in DoSA and the hours of the position are 10:00am-6:30pm Mon-Fri and 6:30am-3:00pm on alternating Saturdays. This is a float position that will require flexibility to work at all Wellness Center locations and various shifts as needed.
