Associates are eligible to apply for a transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Probationary period is four (4) months for full-time employees, and six (6) months for part-time employees.

 

 

Registered Nurse – OB/GYN

 

Reporting to the Site Administrator/Nurse Manager/Senior Leadership, Registered Nurse contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and critical success factors of Women's Health OBGYN.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Committed to maintaining the standards of the practice of nursing and is responsible for the coordination, implementation and delivery of care to Women's Health OBGYN patient population
  • Participate in performance improvement/research activities, maintains professional practice standards, clinical expertise, and demonstrates leadership skills
  • Responsible for the coordination of ancillary clinical support associates (LPN/PCT)
  • Ensure TJC sweeps are performed routinely and will oversee HLD/Sterilization completion by PCT/LPN associates
  • Systematically assesses the health care of patients/families and responses to care rendered
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills to problem solve and initiate clinical decision making
  • Develops, coordinates and provides direct care for specific patient assignment reflective of current and changing status of the patient

 

Qualifications:

  • New York State License for a Registered Professional Nurse and current registration of valid permit to practice in New York State as an RN
  • BSN Degree
  • Additional education required by specialty areas
  • Effective English communication skills, both written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use basis data entry and retrieval system
  • A minimum 3-5 years experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health
