SURGICAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT- TRANSPLANT SURGERY

The Surgical Physician Assistant works closely with the physicians to provide quality, efficient, and thoughtful patient care. The Physician Assistant has advanced health assessment and decision-making skills. The provision of care includes, but is not limited to: performing history and physical examinations, comprehensive assessment, ordering diagnostic test, prescribing pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies, following therapeutic protocols, and providing educational instruction in collaboration with the multidisciplinary transplant team.
This individual must demonstrate the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. This position will provide medical/surgical care to pre and post liver, kidney & pancreas transplant patients, hepatobiliary surgery and Vascular access patients.
The PA will work in the inpatient hospital setting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant program.
Registered as a Physician’s Assistant in New York State
NCCPA certified
4 years PA experience – required
Inpatient experience -required
Spanish Speaking – preferred not required
Schedule: Variable, includes nights and weekends
12.5 hrs
