Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.

 

 

The Sleep Technician  performs comprehensive sleep testing and analysis and associated interventions, including welcoming the patient, orienting the patient to a sleep lab, placing leads on patients, monitoring/performing the study, unhooking the patient after the study, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and completing appropriate forms. The technician must provide training to those co-workers of lesser experience and/or skill. The technician may be asked to supervise other staff and perform lab manager type duties ( in absence of lab manager).

 

License/ Certification

Must have certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a registered Polysomnographic Technologist and NYS license to practice as a sleep technician. ( Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography or successful completion of a polysomnography program. Associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility). Must have a valid BLS/CPR card.

 

Work Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday Evenings
