TECHNOLOGIST INTERMEDIATE

POSITION SUMMARY: 

·         Check EPIC for daily newborn and NICU census, along with babies who need rescreens, to obtain work list for the day. 

·         Screen hearing of newborns.

·         Enter results in EPIC, in baby’s chart and immunization card and Enter charges into EPIC.

·         Give re-screen appointments to families as needed.

·         Communicate with the next day’s screener with regards to babies who need to be re-screened before discharge if possible, and of the status of NICU babies who are waiting to be medically stable enough and/or old enough for testing.

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: 

·         High school diploma or equivalent 

·         1 to 2 weeks of hands-on training prior to performing independent screenings after EPIC training
