TRAINING SPECIALIST COMMUNITY HEALTH

The Training Specialist will leverage their knowledge of the community social service provider  landscape to support The CHW Institute. This highly organized team member will  identify and engage partners to participate in enhance and optimize training and service delivery for Community Health Worker team; work closely with the CHW management team to identify training needs, develop, coordinate, and evaluate training sessions. The community engagement and training specialist will serve as the key liaison to the institute's core training and apprenticeship partner(s) to ensure that training and apprenticeship requirements are met. In keeping with the Institute's goal to foster learning and development that supports career ladder growth, this associate will leverage internal professional development offered at Montefiore, and build external partnerships to support operations and expand learning opportunities for CHW Institute staff.  

The Training Specialist will work closely with CHW Institute staff and senior management team. The positions will report directly to the Associate Director of the Community Health Worker Institute to effectively develop and maintain a network of community partners and stakeholders to guide and enhance CHWI strategies. This position will be engaged in all aspects, based on skill level, of community engagement and training for the CHW Institute. 

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS

 

High School Diploma

4 years of direct service experience as a Community Health Worker or in  case management, care coordination, social service navigation or related field. Experience working with community members and community based organizations.

● Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
● Experience in the public health field; familiarity with community health workers preferred. 
● Knowledge of the local community, culture and resources, is favorable.
● Bilingual in Spanish or French preferred.
