TRANSPLANT COORDINATOR

BRONX, NY, US


The Clinical Transplant Coordinator (Registered Nurse), in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers, is responsible for  coordinating the clinical aspects of care for patients  and families undergoing the process of organ transplantation.  Demonstrates advanced and diverse clinical knowledge and skills in the capacity of clinician, educator,  collaborator and patient advocate to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a semi-autonomous, self-directed role in accordance with professional practice standards and clinical expertise.  Coordinators who are Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners will, in addition, be responsible to their supervising physicians for clinical matters as required by state and hospital regulations.

 

Requirements:

Current licensure and registration (or valid permit) as a registered professional nurse with the New York State (BSN)

A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a highly specialized complex care program.
Experience in transplant patient care role preferred.
Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to use data entry and retrieval system.
