TRANSPLANT COORDINATOR PRACTITIONER

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our Lung Transplant team. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with physicians to provide high-quality, efficient, and thoughtful care to pre- and post-lung transplant patients, as well as advance pulmonary disease patients. This role involves a range of responsibilities, including assisting with bronchoscopies, performing daily inpatient rounding, and providing medical and surgical care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Under the direct supervision of transplant pulmonologist, the PA will perform physical examinations, order and/or conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formulate diagnoses, and develop and implement treatment plans. You will also monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and provide educational instruction to patients and families. Working in the hospital setting, this position follows a three 12-hour shift schedule, with alternating weekends and day shifts only.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree Required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- Current licensure and registration (or valid permit) as a registered professional nurse with the New York State
- OR Current certification and registration as a nurse practitioner within New York State
- OR Current licensure and registration as a physician assistant within New York State
- ACLS and BLS required
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a highly specialized complex care program required.
- Experience in transplant patient care role preferred.
- Effective English communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to use data entry and retrieval system.
