ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN RD OB C

The registered Ultrasound Technologist performs various modalities of cardiac ultrasound, including Transthoracic echo, stress (exercise and pharmacological) echo, assistance in transesophageal echo and assistance in echo guided invasive procedures. Responsibilities include preparation of preliminary reports, study transmittal and coverage of various outpatient satellite sites, Moses campus and other Hospital locations.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Perform accurate and quality diagnostic studies according to lab protocol
•    Perform appropriate number of tests per day
•    Perform STAT exams in a timely manner
•    Teach and assist in training of students, fellows and new technicians
•    Maintain appearance of lab and work areas
•    Follow proper echo workflow
•    Interview Patient for Identification, patient education and detailed clinical history.
•    Maintain quality patient care i.e. IV pump operation, Oxygen delivery
•    Render excellent patient care
•    Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the 
•    patients served 
•    Provide privacy and confidentiality


Qualifications:

•    Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS OR RDCS) with at least one year of clinical echocardiography experience preferred 
•    High School Diploma/GED required
•    Requires 30 CE credits per three year rolling triennium to maintain active registered status
•    Completion of CAAHEP certified cardiovascular sonography program preferred
•    Must be BLS certified
•    Various Ultrasound Systems including, Phillips iE33, Phillips Epiq, Phillips CX-50 and SONOS 7500/5500
•    PC Computer for data entry, Celera, LifeImage, and Epic applications
•    Extensive knowledge of the principles of ultrasound physics and instrumentation of ultrasound systems, cardiac anatomy, physiology and pathology
•    Knowledge of exercise stress echo and pharmacological stress echo, transesophageal echo, and echo guided invasive procedures and sterile techniques and procedures required
•    Proficiency in operation of PC and use of Xcelera and Apollo
