ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN RD OB CRD VAS

Under the direction of the Radiologist in charge of ultrasound and supervisor of ultrasound, performs a variety of ultrasound examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.  Uses independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed scanning protocols for purposes of medical diagnosis. 

 

Education and Requirements:

 

High School Diploma/GED required.

Associates degree or Diploma from an Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.

Graduation from an accredited training program in diagnostic medical sonography, which meets requirements for certification by ARDMS.

Must be registered by the ARDMS in Abdomen and/or OB/Gyn.

Requires 30 CE credits per three year rolling triennium to maintain active ARDMS status.

Operation of  diagnostic ultrasound units capable of B Mode, M Mode, color and pulse wave Doppler and 3D imaging.

Utilization of the EPIC medical information system. Utilization of GE PACS.

Utilization of Trophon disinfection systems. Workstation/PC operational knowledge.
