UNIT BASED EDUCATION COORDINATOR

BRONX, NY, US


Responsible for planning and implementing orientation and in-service education programs with identified instructional outcomes under the direction and guidance of the Director of Nursing. Teaches pertinent content to staff on the Unit. Contributes to the quality of patient care by participation in quality improvement activities and research.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Master’s Degree – Required

• Bachelor’s Degree – Required

• Specialty – Nursing Education, Pediatrics

• 5 Years Work Experience – Required

• Current Licensure as a registered professional nurse in New York State

• Current Basic Life Support certification is required

 

Masters or post Masters Certificate in Nursing Education preferred; or a combination of education and experience that is acceptable to N.Y. State Education Department and the Director of Nursing and/or Chairman of the Department, or Division Director.

 Additional education as required by specialty/patient care location

• Prefer 5 years - Pediatric Nursing

• Prefer experience managing acute and chronic care in pediatric patients

• Effective English communication skills, both written and oral

Ability to use data entry and retrieval system
