WATCH ENGINEER

Job overview:
Under general supervision; Performs the operation and maintenance of boiler and related power plant equipment such as team engines, air compressors and engines to provide steam, electric power and auxiliary services.
Inspects and performs maintenance and repairs on HVAC, refrigeration equipment, boiler and engines.
Performs related duties as required.Operates, monitors and maintains high pressure boilers and ancillaryequipment.
Assists in the preventive maintenance and repair program.
Supervises and trains lower level maintenance staff as required.
Observes meters, gauges to determine operating condition of equipment and to regulate the flow of water and fuel in accordance with needs and safety standards.
Performs regular inspections and repairs of all mechanical spaces, boilers HVAC equipment, and engine generators.
Responds to mechanical emergencies during night and evening shifts.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Possession of a valid NYC Watch Engineer's license and refrigeration license.
- Ability to read and write and comprehend English.
- Diesel engine experience a plus.
- Knowledge of principals and procedures of operating stationary engines and boilers.
