Montefiore Information Technology (MIT) is looking for an Instructional Designer that will support the management of development and integration requirements of Montefiore.  This candidate will play a key role in the implementation and support of a new ERP suite including the Finance, Supply Chain, HR and Asset Management functions on a single ERP system across all business partners.  This strategic position will be part of a strong team that will play a pivotal role in the health system’s ERP technology transformation program and evolve to a shared services model across Montefiore Medicine. 

The Instructional Designer works with the Infor Service Process Manager and the application team to develop the training program for a specific Infor application(s). This position will design and develop instructor-led and technology delivered courses using content developmental tools and will work with subject matter experts to refine course content based on work flow analysis. The Instructional Designer will implement and follow a systematic design process for effective and efficient learning and will work closely with staff to integrate best practices in developing technology-enhanced and blended courses. In addition to the content itself, the role will also deliver training and assist with developing appropriate program evaluation tools in order to assess the effectiveness of each training module. The Instructional Designer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.




  • Master both the Infor application and the organization’s specific workflow relevant to the application(s).
  • Develop and deliver the training program for their respective application(s) as needed.
  • Plan the design and development of training program(s) including selecting appropriate delivery methods and sources of content.
  • Build, test, and maintain the training environment.
  • Create and maintain all training materials.
  • Train and credential additional classroom trainers from within the organization to assist with end-user training.
  • Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
  • Maintain training curriculum, the training environment, and deliver ongoing training post-live.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts to understand IRC business processes, system processes and functional roles.
  • Plan, design, develop, and edit instructor-led training content, as well as storyboards for electronic learning modules (WBT, CBT eLearning)
  • Design and develop training materials adhering to standard formats, guidelines and methodology.
  • Conceptualize and develop evaluation measures; including knowledge checks and course assessments.
  • Design and implement follow-up activities to strengthen and sustain knowledge gained and skills developed from Integra training programs and courses.
  • Participate in the quality review and revision cycles of training materials developed by other training team members.
  • Conduct Training Material walk-through for Regional Trainers and designated Project Team members.


Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of instructional design experience. Able to provide a portfolio of training user guides, presentations decks and other supporting material.
  • 3+ years of experience with a major ERP system as a trainer, instructional designer, or SME.
  • A detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration.
  • Experience communicating technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Proven ability in developing engaging and effective training curriculum to provide essential knowledge and enhance user adoption.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles.
  • Strong attention to detail (excellent proofreading and editing skills).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated competency in areas of interpersonal skills, writing skills, effective communication, facilitation, coaching, organization skills, and presentation skills
  • BA or BS degree in a relevant field such as instructional technology, educational technology or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
