Position Summary:

Function as an Operations Consultant to support long-term system and solution planning process for Finance. Support includes the development, implementation and integration of processes and systems to support the SAP ERP system and Montefiore’s strategic goals. The position will support overall coordination of financial and controlling processes and systems to support the Montefiore’s business models and financial information needs. Financial processes will also complement and enhance Montefiore’s clinical and administrative information needs.


Major accountabilities:


  • As needed, provides expert level knowledge for the resolution of end-user and service-user support requests
  • Provides process/functional advice as to the lean and effective integration of business management systems to other in-house and external systems and solutions
  • Provides input for the introduction, selection, and application of best business practices, new system and technology trends and necessary changes to policies and procedures, to all levels of management
  • Supports the adjustment, improvement, and enrichment to the solution management methodology and the ongoing documentation and standardization effort
  • In area of expertise, mentors associates from other departments in the best use of existing solutions and systems
  • Provides second level support and expertise for implemented SAP Financial applications
  • Overseas and actively supports administrative task for the SAP centric Financial Management Solution
  • Supports the development and continuous improvement of an effective improvement and implementation methodology, including tools, templates, standards, policies and procedures
  • Supports the establishment of standards and embodies new approaches for effective business management, superior quality and service levels and fiscal responsibility
  • Ensure tight coordination of effort among workgroups, comprising of leadership and management, to implement optimal financial processes/system to support Montefiore’s strategic goals.
  • Provide direction with data cleansing, data conversion, and cross-system conversions
  • Provide direction with the testing and validation of new functionality and enhancements
  • Assure policies and procedures are updated, communicated, and maintained in a timely manner
  • Update training materials and training modalities to align with updated processes and system functionalities
  • Monitor and maintain system access through established role-based information requirements
  • Active participation in handling of legacy information, archiving requirements, and data retention/disaster recovery, and data retention policies/procedures
  • Adherence to Montefiore’s confidentiality requirements
  • Stay abreast of changing business models to support Montefiore’s business requirements
  • Maintain workgroup support and motivation


Minimum Qualifications & Competencies


  • At least five years of experience with the design, implementation, improvement and management of  Financial, Controlling and Reporting solutions, enabled by SAP’s suite of core -  and extended applications, including the Public Sector Business Function Extension (Funds and Grant Management)
  • Working knowledge of SAP’s Enterprise Asset Management application beneficial
  • Hands-on experience with SAP release ECC6.0 required
  • Experience in managing small- to medium-size systems and solution initiatives
  • Proven experience in working with data management and transformational change at an enterprise level
  • Expert problem solving and analytical skills; excellent trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to communicate with internal and external colleagues and customers at all levels
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with process implementation or improvement methodologies, e.g. Value SAP, Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC, DFSS), SDLC, etc.
  • Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma education, SSGB certification or higher preferred
  • Business background/education in respective functional/process area
  • Solid cross-functional and integration knowledge to other process/functional areas
  • Experienced with the management of initiative related internal and external resources
  • BS in related field required, advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
