COMPENSATION ANALYST

TARRYTOWN, NY, US


This position will provide compensation consulting, education, and analytical support to medical center management, Employee Relations, and HR Business Partners. Develop base salary, bonus/incentive and other compensation delivery strategies, and approaches. Perform competitive analyses through market-pricing and survey participation. Consult with management on the preparation of position descriptions. Conduct job evaluations for proper grade level assignment & salary recommendations. Review and approve workflow items in Montefiore’s HR Systems regarding job classification and salary adjustments.  Prepares and accurately responds to salary surveys, ensures appropriate job matches, and thorough completion of questionnaires. Facilitates and assists in the administration of annual increases for the union and non-union population. Assist in the development of compensation structures and salary scales. Assure compliance with collectively bargained contractual compensation commitments. Supply testimony at arbitrations and grievance hearings.

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

Review, analyze and make recommendation on appropriate classification and compensation for exempt and non-exempt positions.

Conduct salary surveys. Analyze survey data and make recommendations to management and Labor Relations. Recommend salary structure and compensation program changes. Respond to internal and external requests for salary survey data. Perform compression analyses.

Assist in the implementation of across-the-board increases and the implementation of union agreements. Prepare salary scales for various groupings in accordance with corresponding contracts.

Administer and implement the medical center merit review programs for professional & management positions.

Consult with departments concerning compensation, contract interpretation, and Compensation Policy.

Develop and recommend new Human Resources forms and questionnaires related to compensation.

Review relevant employee records and documents and analyzes causes of over/underpayment.

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS;

 

Bachelor's Degree or demonstrated knowledge through work equivalent to bachelor’s degree .  One year's experience

Prior Compensation administration experience preferred. Proficiency in job description preparation, job evaluation, incentive plan development and compensation planning. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of regulations and legislation (i.e., ADA, DOL, FLSA, EEO, NYS Wage /Hour) governing compensation.

Strong quantitative, data analysis, and organization skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and HRIS platforms.

Knowledge of current compensation practices to include labor and pay laws.

Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
