COMPENSATION ANALYST

TARRYTOWN, NY, US


Job Purpose:

The Human Resources Total Rewards department at Montefiore is seeking a Compensation Analyst. This individual will provide compensation consulting, education, and analytical support to medical center management, Employee Relations, and HR Business Partners.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and make recommendation on appropriate classification and compensation for exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Conduct salary surveys. Analyze survey data and make recommendations to management and Labor Relations. Recommend salary structure and compensation program changes. Respond to internal and external requests for salary survey data. Perform compression analyses.
  • Administer and implement the medical center merit review programs for professional & management positions.
  • Consult with departments concerning compensation, contract interpretation, and Compensation Policy.
  • Provide support and recommendations to Labor Relations during negotiations.
  • Assist in the implementation of across-the-board increases and the implementation of union agreements. Prepare salary scales for various groupings in accordance with corresponding contracts.
  • Review and approve Workflow in SAP HCM submissions regarding job classification and recommended salary changes.
  • Participate in the completion of consultant salary surveys utilized by the medical center for analysis.
  • Conducts or participate in Ad-Hoc compensation and benefits projects.
  • Develop and recommend new Human Resources forms and questionnaires related to compensation.
  • Review relevant employee records and documents and analyzes causes of over/underpayment.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred (in HR related field), or demonstrated knowledge through work equivalent to bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 2 years in human resources
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).


Additional knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Prior Compensation administration experience preferred. Proficiency in job description preparation, job evaluation, incentive plan development and compensation planning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of regulations and legislation (i.e., ADA, DOL, FLSA, EEO, NYS Wage /Hour) governing compensation.
  • Strong quantitative, data analysis, and organization skills. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of current compensation practices to include labor and pay laws. Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
