JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

TARRYTOWN, NY, US


The Junior will support the monthly close and reporting cycle within the Financial Accounting Department of the Montefiore Health System, mainly assisting with White Plains Hospital. Responsibilities will include analyzing historical data, journal entry input/upload, account reconciliations, account analysis as well as ad-hoc projects and assisting with the year-end audit. 

 

Responsibilities include:

Responsible for the accurate preparation and input of financial data into multiple general ledger system. 

Ensure the timely reporting of various balance sheet, income statements and other related accounts balances and supporting schedules.

Maintain General Ledger account analysis, understand and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Analyze variances between budget and actual data and report findings. Work with various managers and directors at the sites to ensure accurate department expense reporting 

 

Education/Skills:

 

Bachelor's Degree required.   One year experience.

MBA helpful but not required.

Advanced knowledge and use of  Microsoft Excel and Word required. Must demonstrate an ability to use complex excel functions such as v lookups, pivot tables, filters, etc.
