Population Health has been part of the fabric at Montefiore since the 1990’s- long before the need to move health care from the inpatient setting into the community - was recognized as critical by our peer hospital systems. Our Epic team is seeking an Application Analyst for our Epic Care Connect team to support Epic implementation, community networks, growth, and partnerships. In this role, you will be responsible for working with a suite of Epic products, including: EpicCare Link, Epic Care Everywhere, Epic Mobile Apps, Epic MyChart. The Application Analyst will guide the Epic product specific build regarding scheduling and workflows of providers and patients, including enhancing the support models to achieve successful enhancements, expansion, and ongoing support. The architecture will be EPIC based.

 

Application Analyst - Epic Care Everywhwere, EpicCare Link and Epic MyChart

 

Responsibilities:

  • Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
  • Define go-live and rollout support schedule. Assist in the coordination of field support activities. Provide go-live and rollout support.
  • Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
  • Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
  • Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users: 
  • Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
  • Interpret end user requirements, by fully discussing potential options, and help client move towards optimal solution.
  • Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
  • Create system specifications from user requirements.
  • Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications. Document all outcomes of testing.
  • Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Provide 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • EPIC Certification is required in Care Everywhere and EpicCare Link.* (*if not Epic certified upon hire, this will be required within 3 months of start date. Strong consideration will be given to candidates that are not currently certified but can demonstrate ability to become certified). Note: Epic requires prerequisite certification to obtain the EpicCare Link certification such as Epic Ambulatory or Epic Clindoc.
  • 1+ years of experience in a related clinical technical position
  • 1+ years of experience in Application builds and go-lives, along with implementation, workflow, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
  • Knowledge of application integration and interoperability
  • Programming or other technical skills beneficial
  • Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint 
  • Experience working directly with end users
  • Demonstrative understanding of technical documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of health care workflows
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • On a rotational basis, provide remote 24 x 7 on-call coverage for user support on a rotating basis
  • On an as-needed basis, provide on-site support within the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals and/or its’ affiliates.
  • MEETING ALL REQUIREMENTS FOR EPIC CERTIFICATION IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

 

Desired:

  • Clinical application experience in Epic Ambulatory and/or Epic ClinDoc
  • Programming or other technical skills beneficial
  • Experience in Telehealth with Epic integrated solutions
  • Experience in mobile solutions and patient portals
