Behavioral Care Clinical Manager- NY State licensed social worker, psychologist or clinical RN specialist. Position responsibilities include:  clinical level of care determinations for urgent and emergent care, review and authorization of any behavioral service requiring pre-authorization or concurrent review, comprehensive discharge planning enabling effective and appropriate transition of care, follow up of care transitions progress, identification of high risk members requiring specialized complex and collaborative plans of care with behavioral providers, medical providers, community agencies, and outpatient case managers with the goal towards recovery and maintenance of greater health stability.  Provides clinical oversight of the care-coordination level of staff for care transitions. Oversight and management of a behavioral health provider network.


The manager will act as a resource and treatment planning consultant to providers and facilities for the review of care decisions and appropriate interventions targeted to achieve stability in appropriate level of aftercare. Position requires independent clinical decision and oversight of care based upon clinically sound judgment and the ability to interpret level of care criteria. This behavioral care manager will participate in the development of existing programs and grants to manage and achieve improved outcomes for high-risk members in compliance with UBA policies and procedures and adherence to health plan and regulatory requirements. This manager will also direct the flow of all urgent, crisis management and emergent level of care.


Position requires ongoing case management for selected high-risk cases and participation in the management team reviews of such cases. Capacity to work well as member of a team as well as independently is essential. Position is open to NYS licensed LCSW, psychologist with Ph.D./Psy.D and NY license, or RN with BS or Masters Degree and specialty in behavioral care. Position requires minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in  behavioral health care settings. Experience with both substance abusing and psychiatric populations a plus. Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
