DATABASE DEVELOPER

YONKERS, NY, US


The role of the Database Developer will include, but is not limited to, development of usable datasets to support improvement of patient outcomes, provide a foundation for quality measures, reporting, and research. The incumbent will possess strong programming skills and be able to think critically to solve problems in order to develop customized and sustainable data-driven solutions for problems impacting Montefiore.
 

Education:   Bachelor's degree required.

 

EXPERIENCE
--------------------
REQUIRED
   • Hands-on experience with SQL programming (writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting) 
   • Ability to create database objects such as tables, views and stored procedures
   • Possess an understanding of data sources, data standards/best practices, and data quality
   • Experience supporting reporting, analysis, or data mining in health care or related fields
   • Strong ability to understand, categorize and translate business/user requirements to functional requirements
   • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and meet deadlines
   • Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to communicate and document user interactions and/or requirements

PREFERRED:
   • Epic Cogito certification (Clarity/Caboodle) 
   • Experience working with Epic EMR and associated data repositories or data warehouses
   • Experience working with Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server databases
   • Experience working with various types of health care data 
   • Experience with clinical coding terminologies (ICD-10-CM, SNOMED CT, CPT, etc)
   • Excellent presentation skills
