At Montefiore, our Business Intelligence and Analytics organization is a large (40+) and growing department that provides complex information solutions to our corporate leadership.

 

The team focuses on the timely delivery of accurate, relevant and easily accessible information to all of its  hospitals, as well as Montefiore’s corporate decision makers and external regulators or partners.  The technical team is comprised of data architects, DBAs, database engineers, business intelligence developers and business analysts who shepherd data from Montefiore’s multiple source systems to the Enterprise Data Warehouse and then to our customers through the business intelligence self-service platform. We are seeking an ETL Database Engineer to work with Informatica Powercenter. For this role,

 

The Database Engineer will assist in gathering  business requirements, designing, and developing ETL pipelines, and logical models for relational, columnar, and multi-dimensional data stores, and ultimately building the physical database. They are expected to analyze business needs and create a complete database solution. The ideal candidate will be participating in overall design of the enterprise-wide data/information architecture, and focus on ETL design, architecture, and data modeling. The successful candidate will have a strong  understanding of BI architecture, ETL design patterns, Data modeling, and Database management systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Perform source system analysis and meet with business stakeholders to create appropriate requirements for data modeling
  • Strong understanding of dimensional data model concepts needed to optimize data analysis, ETL Development, and BI reporting tools
  • Experience maintaining enterprise data model documentation through industry-leading tools like ER Studio/ERWIN
  • Work closely with Business Intelligence Analysts and Database Engineers to ensure the needs of the customer are being met in the areas of reporting and analytics.
  • Develop data standards in terms of nomenclature, storage, design, and deployments.
  • Design, Develop and optimize ETL pipelines using Informatica Cloud (IICS) and Informatica PowerCenter
 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge in Data Warehouse approaches
  • Experience with building and maintaining physical and logical database models
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Informatica IICS, Informatica PowerCenter
  • Experience with DevOps: Jira, Bitbucket (CI/CD), Confluence
  • Experience with Data Architecture and Data Modeling: Erwin, Idera Embarcadero etc.
  • Experience with relational SQL including Oracle and SQL Server
  • Experience with scheduling or orchestration: AutoSys, ControlM
  • Experience with Azure cloud services: Azure Storage, ADF, Synapse, Databricks,
  • Experience with scripting languages (Nice to have): Python, Scala, Unix Shell Scripting etc.
  • Knowledge of clinical and financial systems within a Healthcare environment (Nice to have)
 
Education :
Bachelor’s degree or Relevant Work Experience.
