Our Business Intelligence and Analytics team provides complex information solutions to our corporate leadership.  The team focuses on the timely delivery of accurate, relevant, and easily accessible information to all of its hospitals, as well as Montefiore's corporate decision makers, and external regulators or partners.  The technical team is comprised of data architects, DBAs, database engineers, business intelligence developers and business analysts who shepherd data from Montefiore’s multiple source systems to the Enterprise Data Warehouse and then to our customers through the business intelligence self-service platform. We seek a Business Intelligence Solutions Architect.

 

This position is a high visibility, strategic role with extensive interaction with operational leadership across the health system.

 

As a key part of the Montefiore IT Business Intelligence team, the Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing professional guidance, technical design, and strategy in the arena(s) of data modeling, data analysis, data mining and solution development. The Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with variety of individuals across clinical, financial and IT operations to ensure best practice design and configuration are pursued and ultimately achieved. The Business Intelligence Solutions Architect provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization’s mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care and revenue.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • The BI Solutions Architect will collaborate with Senior level stakeholders to understand business requirements and design comprehensive business intelligence solutions and provide solution recommendations and improvements to Montefiore leadership.
  • Design data models, data integration processes, and data visualization strategies, in support of the Montefiore Health System mission.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to extract meaningful insights. Identify opportunities, trends, patterns, and outliers to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Contribute to the scaling, optimization, enhancement and rationalization of the enterprise data warehouse, various data repositories and integration processes from various internal and external sources (application databases, extracts, APIs, etc.) to create a robust view of the system’s data.
  • Help develop highly interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using BI tools to communicate findings, data insights and Key Performance Indicators to various organizational stakeholders. Prototype solutions to help with up-front decision making. 
  • Partner with other BI team leaders to monitor and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security. Work with IT team / business area domain subject matter experts to maintain high data quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other members of the team. Establish and share best practices, new concepts, ideas and continue foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and innovation.
  • Maintain, create, and keep current documentation for all BI solutions and processes.
  • Partner with the PMO to provide succinct, accurate and timely status updates for project level deliverables. Establish a comprehensive monthly status reporting mechanism reflecting in-flight efforts, upcoming activities, risks, issues and key decisions.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

 

  • Demonstrated experience as a data/solutions architect in an enterprise organization. Hands-on experience with data warehouse development life cycle defining architecture.
  • Extensive expertise with solution design, and implementation of BI tools such as Power BI, QlikView, Business Objects Epic Slicer Dicer, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Data Integration solutions (Informatica, etc.)
  • Proven experience with cloud services with emphasis on Data and BI focused solutions
  • Outstanding presentation and communications.
  • Experience working with executive leadership.

DESIRED:

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in an enterprise healthcare organization, preferably on the provider side.
  • Prior experience with large enterprise EMR platforms, ideally Epic
  • Experience in research organizations.
  • Experience with cloud services with emphasis on Data and BI focused solutions.
  • Background in DataOps or DevSecOps.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Masters preferred.
