Our award-winning IT organization seeks an IT Security Engineer. This role is vital to ensure our organization’s computer systems and networks remain secure against potential attacks. Your role involves assessing our hardware and software systems, identifying potential vulnerabilities, implementing security measures and strategies, and maintaining these protective measures in the long run.

 

While this team works remotely some of the time, you must be prepared to work in our office as required. Montefiore requires employees to reside in NY, NJ, CT, or PA, and to be vaccinated including for COVID and flu.

 

Responsibilities include:

  1. Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade the organization's security measures.
  2. Ensure that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.
  3. Participate in the change management process.
  4. Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities and create counteractive strategies to protect the network.
  5. Conduct efficient and comprehensive incident response if a security breach occurs.
  6. Provide technical security advice to IT staff and management to ensure the constant improvement of our security strategies.
  7. Assist in training team members in security awareness and procedures.
  8. Develop and update business continuity and disaster recovery protocols.
  9. Train and supervise staff on new security measures and software.

 

Qualifications include:

  1. Proven work experience as an IT Security Engineer or related position in an enterprise organization.
  2. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, such as HIPAA.
  3. Proficiency in firewalls, routers, anti-virus software, and IDS/IPS.
  4. Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  6. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

 

 

Desired:

  1. Professional security management certification, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), is strongly desired.

 

Montefiore employees are required to reside in NY. NJ, CT, or PA, and to be immunized for COVID and flu.
