At Montefiore we are seeking an experienced and skilled Cloud Architect to join our dynamic team and take the lead in designing, implementing, and managing our hybrid cloud environment. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping our cloud strategy, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud resources. Your expertise in VMware, Windows, VDI, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, Powershell scripting, and experience with Azure or AWS will be instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency within our IT landscape.

 

The IT Architect will implement comprehensive solutions at the Enterprise level.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive hybrid cloud strategy that aligns with business goals and IT requirements.
  • Design solutions for seamless integration and data exchange between on-premises infrastructure and various cloud platforms, including Azure or AWS.
  • Identify opportunities for workload optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement within the hybrid cloud environment.
  • Architect, configure, and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructure components, including VMware, Nutanix, and Cisco UCS systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy virtualized desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions, ensuring efficient resource utilization and optimal end-user experiences.
  • Lead the setup of network connectivity, security protocols, and data replication strategies between on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Develop and enforce security best practices, policies, and procedures across the hybrid cloud environment, including Azure or AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement robust authentication, access control, encryption, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to data protection and privacy.
  • Utilize Powershell scripting and other automation tools to streamline deployment, management, and monitoring of cloud resources.
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles to ensure consistent and repeatable environment provisioning.
  • Continuously optimize operational tasks through automation to enhance efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Monitor the performance of hybrid cloud infrastructure and promptly address any issues or bottlenecks.
  • Analyze system metrics, logs, and alerts to identify trends, anticipate problems, and implement proactive solutions.

Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems across the hybrid environment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for architecture, configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities to foster the professional development of team members.

 

 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or similar role in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Strong expertise in VMware, Windows Server, VDI solutions, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and Powershell / Python scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud services and solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts, architecture, and services (public and private clouds).
  • Knowledge of networking principles, security protocols, and best practices for cloud environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure certifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a proactive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.

Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Bachelor in Computer Science , IT, or Related Field
