SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST / QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST / SQL - MANAGED CARE APPLICATIONS - 7382

Montefiore’s IT Department is comprised of nearly 800 people dedicated to improving patient care through information technology.  We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst on our growing Managed Care Applications team. The Sr. Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for working directly with stakeholders to gather business specifications along with creating test strategies, test cases and running the test cycle. The incumbent will work on vendor applications in a Waterfall SDLC environement. The ideal candidate will have strong BA and QA skills along with the ability to write complex SQL queries from scratch.

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis- Analyze complex business problems and specify the functionality of solutions with minimal oversight; Work independently to provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that meet user requirements; Determine and communicate issues/risks; Provide Project Management support across all phases of SDLC.

Client Management – Work directly with clients to assess business needs, provide relevant solutions, and properly manage expectations.

Quality Assurance – Determine testing methodology; Develop detailed test plans; Coordinate user acceptance testing; Execute functional, regression, load testing etc.

Data Analysis – Conduct data analysis and troubleshooting at the database level

Documentation - Prepare detailed requirements specifications, process flow and other required documents; Create training materials and/or participate in training

Leadership – Provide project tasks oversight to business analysts. Encourage, assist, and foster development of co-worker’s skills and proficiency.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 4+ years’ experience testing and troubleshooting custom or vendor applications
• 7+ years of experience with business/systems analysis
• Advanced SQL skills, strong enough to write a complex query
• Strong data analysis skills
• Strong SDLC (waterfall) experience with project involvement as a lead Business Analyst
• Strong QA skills (development of detailed test plans, execution of functional, regression, parallel and user acceptance testing)
• Strong client management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in documentation, particularly test plans and use cases
• Proficiency in communicating with business users, vendors, and technical staff
• Strong technology skills and understanding, with the ability to work effectively with managers, users, and technical staff, and be pro-active in problem resolution

Desired: 

• Knowledge of Healthcare/Managed Care and/or HIPAA
• Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language and/or EDI
• TFS (Team Foundation Server)
• Some hardware/server, application installation experience
